Today sees the start of the 17-day World Snooker Championships in Sheffield, England, with Mark Selby – ‘The Jester From Leicester’ – defending his title.
(It’s a favourite of our EIC Paul, so you might not be hearing too much from him over the next couple of weeks as he’ll be glued to his telly watching constant snooker!)
But we thought we’d take the opportunity to produce another of our Writing Prompt Squares…
As always, enjoy yourself – you don’t need to be too literal with any of the choices made. Just throw the dice, make a note of the selections, and away you go. (If you don’t have an actual dice to hand, you can use this nifty little random generator: www.random.org/dice)
Don’t forget, though – this is just a bit of fun, and nothing to do with our official writing competitions. (Although, of course, if it inspires a story that you’d like to enter, then that’s great!)*
To find out all the details of our competitions, you can ceck them out here:
1500 word Short Story Competition – next deadline midnight 30th April
500 word Flash Fiction Competition – next deadline midnight 31st May
700 -1000 word Prompt Competition – next deadline 10am 1st July
Have fun. Happy writing!
* Using this prompt grid is not a requirement of entering any of our competitions. Also, using this prompt grid for a story into any of our competitions will give absolutely no advantage in the judging process. And finally, if you’re entering our prompt competition, you probably won’t want to impose any further restrictions on your story anyway by using this grid!
