Our latest prompt competition short list and winners have been decided by the judges, and we’re delighted to announce them today.
It was perhaps a tricky set of prompts this quarter, as highlighted by the number of entries. We had fewer than usual, and the long- and short-lists are shorter than in previous competitions.
The prompts for this quarter were:
Your story must take place within a 24 hour time frame
Weather should play a role in your story
It must contain the words STOOL, CONSULT, and LANGUID
After much deliberation, the three winning stories are:
1st: Dominic Bell – The Pub In The Middle of Nowhere
2nd: Chris Cottom – Cats Tor
3rd: Anna Giangiordano – The Downpour Downfall of Ivo Jones
Prize money is on its way to you, and all three stories are published here on our website.
And well done to the writers who made it to the short list:
Elizabeth Bowen
Anne Crittenden
Matt Oliver
Our next prompt competition – Dialogue Only – is currently open for submissions.
And don’t forget – ALL our competitions are currently running our 4 entries for the price of 3 special offer. So, if you pay the £10 entry fee, you get a free entry!
