Just over a year ago we reported on our collaboration with Manchester-based writer and editor of the Shortstops UK website and twitter, Tania Hershman, on her anthology of short stories entitled FUEL, in aid of fuel poverty organisations.
It was published in February, and by May this year Tania had made the first donation from the sale of copies of the anthology of £1600, split between their four chosen fuel poverty charities. A second print run of the book quickly followed.
Well, recently were delighted to hear from Tania again. “This week,” Tania told us, “I donated another £750 from sales of FUEL to our chosen fuel poverty charities, and I wanted to say another ENORMOUS thank you to all of you for being part of this, that makes £2350 donated so far and the book was only published 9 months ago! I’ve tweeted and posted on Instagram about the donation and suggesting that FUEL makes a great gift for writers & readers – if you fancied spreading the word in time for the holiday season, please do encourage people to grab copies and we can try and raise more for charity as it’s getting even colder here in the UK and the need is still acute.”
Tania is also planning to create an e-book version of FUEL, adding in at least five bonus prize-winning flash stories, which she expects to be available some time in the new year.
Congratulations Tania, from all of us here at Cranked Anvil! Well done, and keep up the fantastic work.
