Goodbyeeee – For Now!..

We’ve had a busy old time over the past 6 years, but now the time has come for Cranked Anvil Press to wind down and take a bit of a sabbatical.

Since we announced our first short story competition back in April of 2019, we have:

• Run 18 Short Story Writing Competitions
• Run 16 Flash Fiction Writing Competitions
• Run 3 ‘Prompt’ Writing Competitions

This has resulted in publishing over 100 winning stories here on our website, as well as paying thousands of pounds to writers in prize money.

We have also published three print anthologies, dozens of microfiction stories here on our website, as well as providing support and encouragement to many writers who have gone on to significantly further their writing careers – just check out examples of this here, here, and here.

We’re proud of our work here, and proud of each and every writer who has submitted to us.

But for now, we here at CAHQ have decided to close our submissions and take a step back, in order to regroup and focus on other projects.

In the meantime, do keep half an eye on this website, as the phoenix may rise from the ashes in future, in some form or another! And if you would like to keep an eye on me personally, and my own writing and acting journey as it continues, (there are quite a few exciting announcements to be made in the coming weeks), then head over to my own website and subscribe for updates. (It’s still in the process of being updated/cleaned up/added to, etc, so don’t let that put you off!)
