We now offer a critique/feedback service with our Flash Fiction Competitions.
If you are entering our quarterly 500-word flash fiction competitions, you now have the option to receive feedback on your entry/entries.
You will be provided with a report, covering presentation, title, opening, characterisation, dialogue, as well as a general overview. We also provide an edited version of your original manuscript (using Word’s ‘Track Changes’) which will highlight corrections and suggestions, as well as general comments on the work.
Our critiques will cover where improvements are needed, but also highlight positive aspects of the writing and story. We feel that a writer benefits just as much from positive recognition when their work is being appraised, and we seek to provide this important aspect of feedback in the critique.
Fees
The cost is usually £12 per critique.
However, exclusively for Cranked Anvil competition entrants, if you request more than one you receive a rolling discount (just as with the competitions themselves!) So:
