There’s A LOT of work that goes into running and maintaining Cranked Anvil and all the services we offer. If you like what we’d do and you’d like to help or get involved, here are some of the ways you can do so:
- Donate: We’re a small-scale operation, essentially not-for-profit. We’re all about offering support and resources to fellow writers around the world. If you can contribute a small amount to that mission via a paypal donation, we’ll love you forever!
- Tell the World: Don’t just keep us to yourself (as tempting as that may seem!) Please spread the word on facebook, bluesky, instagram, twitter/X, by email, on your own website/newsletter, or just about anywhere else you can.
- Collaborate with us: If you run writing competitions too, or if you offer help and resources to writers, and you’d like to join forces to collaborate or cross-publicise, we’d love to hear from you. Just get in touch via the contact form in the sidebar, or email crankedanvil *at* gmail *dot* com
- Subscribe: In the sidebar on this (and every) page you’ll find a subscribe button. Just enter your email and hit the button; you’ll be the amongst the first to receive all our news as soon as it’s published – including up-to-date competition listings, news of our curated resources for writers, notification of new audio content on our website, and extra exclusive material available only to subscribers.
- Advertise your services: If you’re an editor, proof-reader, copy editor, cover designer, writing coach, or anything else an author may need, you can advertise your services with us here on our website. We are select about those we chose to collaborate with, and our rates are VERY reasonable. Get in touch with us for more info or to start a discussion.
- Volunteer: Do you have skills you think you could offer to keep the Cranked Anvil cause going? Are you a competition judge? Could you write an informative article to help writers in their writing process? Maybe you can deliver an online workshop and you’d like to collaborate with us? - Testimonials: You can write us a testimonial/review, and we’ll feature the best on our dedicated testimonials page.
- Listen to our audio output: (coming soon) We have a whole host of fantastic audio content here on the Cranked Anvil website. Find your favourite genre, settle down, and listen in. And if you like what you hear, why not consider a donation?
- Buy our anthologies: (coming soon) Our quarterly short story and flash fiction competitions produce fantastic work from writers around the world, and we digitally publish the best of the best on a regular basis, via Amazon publishing. Buying one or more of these anthologies is a win-win-win… you get great stories direct to your device, we get to share this great work with the world, and the authors receive royalties for their work.
