Testimonials

I really appreciate what Cranked Anvil is doing with these competitions in helping writers and (I hope) in bringing short fiction to a wider audience. In particular, the audio productions are a fantastic idea.

Grant Wandle, past competition winner

Thank you for Cranked Anvil’s support on my writing journey. Since having successes in your competitions, I was able to get an agent and a book deal. Winning and being placed in your competitions were a huge boost and helped validate, and instil confidence in, my writing.

Richard Hooton, past competition winner and now published author of The Margaret Code

I wanted to share this news and officially thank Cranked Anvil for the impact it had on my writing life. This was the first time I’d ever made it into the top three, which meant a huge amount to me. I’ve continued to enter competitions and have had more successes, including being Highly Commended in the Bridport Flash Fiction Prize and winning the £2000 Edinburgh Award.
