May 2022 – Flash shortlist and winners

Since our flash competition started a year and a half ago, this quarter saw the highest number of entries – possibly due to our 4 for the price of 3 offer. We’re pleased to say that we have extended the offer to the current submission window (which closes August 31st).

So – the entry fee for 1 or 2 stories stays the same, but if you pay the £10 entry fee you can enter 4 stories instead of the usual 3.

In the meantime, here are the three winning entries – and the shortlist – for our May22 flash competition. First of all, congratulations to the winning three writers:

1st: Mandy WheelerThe Wall

2nd: Rowan EvansThe Seven Year Spell

3rd: J P RelphPost Mortem: the Proliferation of Life After Death

Your stories are published here on our website, and prize money is on its way.

And well done to the following writers who made it onto the shortlist. Judges confirmed this quarter was a particularly close one to judge, so having made it to this list is a fantastic achievement in itself – well done.
